About

ONE WORLD
One World Network makes science documentaries. We work directly with universities, research institutes, and scientific organisations to tell the stories behind the work — the people, the questions, and what’s actually at stake.
Founded by Matthew Mahoney in 2018, OWN started with a simple premise: science institutions have extraordinary stories and almost no way to tell them. We built the infrastructure to change that — from production to distribution, across CTV, YouTube, and broadcast.
Our films have been made with some of the world’s leading research institutions, including the National Science Foundation, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, NRAO, Penn State, the University of Arizona, and the University of Adelaide. In 2022 we received a Regional Emmy nomination from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Biosphere 2: Hope in the Face of Global Climate Change.
Mission
Science changes everything — how we live, what we understand, what becomes possible. Most of that work happens behind closed doors, in labs and field stations and observatories that the public never sees.
We make that work visible. Not with press releases or explainer graphics, but with real films — shot on RED cinema cameras, built around the people doing the science, and distributed to audiences who want more than surface-level coverage.
