What is COP?

The Conference of Parties, otherwise known as COP, is the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

COP takes place annually and this will be the 30th edition since it began.

These conferences bring together world leaders, where they pledge the changes they will make to reduce their impact on climate change.

The main aim is to keep the rate of climate change to 1.5 degrees.

There needs to be a collective change on a global scale to reach this goal.

COP30 is being held in Belem, Brazil, and is taking place this coming November.

Past speakers include Sir David Attenborough, Barack Obama, Emmanuel Macron, King Charles and many others
